The Q3 report provided little in meaningful progress at 3D Systems (DDD). Sure the 3D printer firm beat analyst EPS estimates by a wide $.05. The expectations still remain for no to limited growth in the next year. The stock trades at 25x forward EPS estimates. As with any stock, the biggest issue is paying the right price. Amazingly, the market was willing to pay upwards of $19 on two occasions this year. The stock is now retesting $12, but investors should be careful thinking this is a bargain price. At $12, 3D Systems trades at a significantly larger valuation than Stratasys (SSYS). The later actually forecasts a larger revenue base. Makes no sense to pay up for 3D Systems so be careful thinking $12 is cheap based on the above chart. Disclosure: No position
