Today, Twitter (TWTR) announced the expansion of a video ad program to approved individual creators. The social-media company has long needed to incentivize top creators to focus on the Twitter platform. The new program should help drive users. https://twitter.com/video/status/770647209876467712?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+"://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); The Wall Street Journal suggests the revenue split is 70/30. The reports don't appear to suggest the program exists for Periscope which the company needs to address and quickly. Facebook (FB) already has programs for top content creators to earn income off Facebook Live. Twitter is down about $0.10 today suggesting the market doesn't care, but a strong revenue sharing split should help grow content, users, and ultimately ad revenue. Disclosure: Long TWTR
